Quentin Tarantino’s Mom Defends Decision To Not Help Her Financially

Earlier this week, famed director and actor Quentin Tarantino revealed he promised to never give his mother a single dime from any film he made after an argument they had when he was younger.

As shocking as THAT may sound, here’s something even more shocking… his mother completely supports him!

Quentin’s mother, Connie Zastoupil, recently defended her son’s decision.

For those unfamiliar with the situation, The Blast previously reported how the ‘Django’ director’s mother scolded him at a young age for writing screenplays in the classroom rather than do his school work.

He told podcast host Brian Koppelman, “She was bitching at me … about that … and then in the middle of her little tirade, she said, ‘Oh, and by the way, this little “writing career,”‘ with the finger quotes and everything. ‘This little “writing career” that you’re doing? That s–t is over!’”

Harsh!

It was at that moment the Academy Award Winner made a promise to himself.

“And when she said that to me in that sarcastic way, I was in my head, and I go, ‘OK, lady. When I become a successful writer, you will never see penny one from my success. There will be no house for you. There’s no vacation for you, no Elvis Cadillac for Mommy. You get nothing. Because you said that,’” he revealed.

Quentin has won two Oscars and countless other awards for his excellence in screenwriting. Oh, and he’s worth an estimated $120 Million according to Celebrity Net Worth.

He has stayed true to his word except for one time when his mom was in a bind with the IRS. That was the ONLY time Quentin assisted his mother financially.

Now, Connie is speaking out about Quentin’s admission.

“Regarding my son Quentin — I support him, I’m proud of him and love him and his growing new family,” she said in a statement to USA Today. “It gave me great joy to dance at his wedding and receive his news upon the birth of my grandson Leo.”

Connie said the media was at fault for twisting Quentin’s not-so-flattering sentiments about her mothering. Adding that it’s easy for podcast comments to “spin and go viral without full context.”

She added that she does “not wish to participate in this salacious transactional media frenzy.”

And that, as they say in showbiz, is a wrap!
