With the dog days of summer coming upon us, it means that the NBA offseason is winding down as well. This offseason was a pretty busy one, as the 2021 NBA Draft class was considered one of the deepest ones in recent history.

Teams traded up and down the draft board, positioning themselves to land prospects they were targeting. There were numerous moves made and things continued through the NBA’s free agency period.

While there weren’t as many blockbuster trades this offseason as many thought there might be, as Russell Westbrook landing with the Los Angeles Lakers in the biggest trade thus far, there was a lot of player movement in free agency.

Sign-and-trades were all the rage, as multiple ones were pulled off. Lonzo Ball, Kyle Lowry, DeMar DeRozan, Devonte’ Graham and Spencer Dinwiddie were among the players that agreed to new deals via sign-and-trades.

As is the case every year, some signings were lauded as excellent deals and steals by analysts. But, some deals shocked a lot of people.
