The Red Hot Chili Peppers have confirmed a host of UK dates for 2022 – and they are coming to Glasgow.
In a long awaited announcement, Anthony Kiedis and his bandmates have revealed they are touring the globe next year.
As well as playing Glasgow’s Bellahouston Park on July 1 they also plan to play London Stadium, Manchester’s Emirates Old Trafford and Dublin’s Marlay Park.
The band initially shared news of their live return via a spoof news conference from the fictional KHOT station.
In a first video, the station’s presenters who were in reality singer Anthony Kiedis, bassist Flea and drummer Chad Smith interviewed returning guitarist John Frusciante about touring.
Now the lads have revealed the actual tour dates with another fun spoof news conference.
Joining the Chilis at their UK shows will be A$AP Rocky (in Manchester) and Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals (in London and Glasgow), plus Thundercat (all UK dates).
The worldwide tour kicks off on Saturday, 4 June at Estadio La Cartuja in Seville, Spain before hitting Paris, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, and more until September.
Fans of the band have been revelling in the news, and are determined not to get mixed up this time by buying Red Hot Chilli Pipers tickets as they did before.
The Scots pipers have caused confusion in the past by having a similar moniker.
One person said: “One time I bought tickets for the red hot chilli pipers because I thought they were the red hot chilli peppers.”
Another added: ” A buddy of mine just bought tickets to see The Red Hot Chilli Pipers, thinking they were The Red Hot Chilli Peppers.”
