Robert Scott Wilson Previews Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem

Now that Ciara Brady’s got her memory back on Days of our Lives, she and Ben are headed for a new adventure. “Cin” will be seen on more than just DAYS as they, along with many other Salem favorites, will be seen starting Monday, September 6 in the limited series Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem on Peacock, NBC’s streaming service. Ben’s portrayer, Robert Scott Wilson, gave Soap Hub a preview of the action.

As previously reported, characters will be seen across the world as they become embroiled in a mystery involving missing jewels. Ben and Ciara (Victoria Konefal), a throwback to the DAYS supercouples of the 1980s, are going to a locale that holds a special place in the hearts of her parents, Hope Williams Brady (Kristian Alfonso) and her late dad Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) — New Orleans.

As DAYS fans recall, Bo and Hope traveled to New Orleans way back in 1984 and it’s the place where the duo made love for the first time. “Sometimes Albert Alarr [co-executive producer] will reach out directly to me,” Wilson tells Soap Hub, “but this time his assistant reached out and said, ‘Albert needs to talk to you.’” Was something serious about to happen? The answer was yes — but in a good way!

Working With Lisa Rinna Was Savage!

Wilson says that his boss informed him of the Beyond Salem series for Peacock and also let him know that he’d be appearing in all five episodes. “I was like, ‘Let’s do it!’” the actor enthuses. Wilson says his first question to Alarr was would the show be going back to New Orleans to shoot on location? Alas, the answer was no, however, Wilson says he got something even better — the chance to work with Lisa Rinna, who will be appearing in Beyond Salem as ISA agent Billie Reed. “She’s savage,” raves Wilson.

DAYS: Beyond Salem’s Mystery Guest

The actor teases that another famous DAYS legend who will be part of Beyond Salem. “There’s an awesome guy who’s back that I got to work with,” teases Wilson about his mystery co-star. Wilson says that shooting the five-part Peacock series was both similar and dissimilar to shooting DAYS. “There are moments that felt different but we’re shooting with the same type of schedule.”

Beyond Salem is going to also highlight the return of other well-known faces including Austin Peck (Austin) and Christie Clark (Carrie). “I had met them briefly before,” Wilson says. In addition to “Cin” going to New Orleans, viewers will also see John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena Evans Black (Deidre Hall) traveling to Zurich, Chad (Billy M. Flynn) visiting old friends in Phoenix, and Abe (James Reynolds), Paulina (Jackée Harry), Lani (Sal Stowers), and Eli (Lamon Archey) vacationing in Hawaii. The story involves some missing jewels that, in the wrong hands, could cause dire consequences for everyone back in Salem!

It’s been announced that Eileen Davidson (Ashley, The Young and the Restless) will also appear in Beyond Salem. But there’s no official word on whether or not she’ll be playing her former roles of Kristen DiMera, Susan Banks, Sister Mary Moira, Thomas Banks, or someone else. In addition to working with Rinna on DAYS, Davidson also appeared with her on the reality TV series Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem is produced by Corday Productions in association with Sony Pictures Television. Ken Corday is the executive producer with co-executive producer Albert Alarr. Ron Carlivati serves as head writer.
