Romelu Lukaku and Mason Mount’s cheeky Chelsea training argument after goal challenge

Chelsea new boy Romelu Lukaku looks to have begun a close friendship with Mason Mount after the official Twitter account shared a clip of the pair in training.

The £97.5million striker and the dynamic midfielder have been taking part in shooting drills – and the result might not have been what supporters would expect.

Lukaku scored his first goal for the Blues on his second debut for the club against Arsenal, having managed 64 goals across just two seasons with Inter Milan.

Mount on the other hand is not known for his exploits in front of goal, but did manage nine strikes last season and eight the previous campaign under Frank Lampard.

The clip uploaded by the Chelsea Twitter account showed the pair taking part in a shooting challenge, with Lukaku firing home before Mount also found the net with some power.

As the youngster gave his team-mate a telling look while walking past, Lukaku said: “Tomorrow is another day.” While the delighted Mount continued to smile.

In response, the Belgium forward wrote on his own account: “It gets competitive!” With a laughing emoji.

Thomas Tuchel said after Lukaku’s debut goal: “He was dangerous throughout.

“There’s room for improvement and we need to work on details but it was a very good debut. He linked up very well with Mason Mount and Kai Havertz.

“I certainly think that nobody likes to play against him, everyone is aware of his physicality and his link-up play and ability to attack the space. He gives another dimension to our game.

“He’s got the whole package; he was always a Chelsea fan whose dream was to make it here.

“It was a perfect start. We didn’t concede a goal and we have two victories. It is a London derby, it gives us a lot of confidence.”

Next up for Chelsea is a trip to take on Premier League leaders Tottenham in the early kick-off, with Lukaku being rested by Belgium on Wednesday evening.
