A man is dead after San Antonio firefighters found him on the floor of a travel trailer that caught fire on the South Side. The fire happened around 4:45 p.m., Sunday, in the 7000 block of South Flores Street.
Firefighters said they were called to a fire at a nearby apartment complex but upon arrival at the scene, there was no active fire. When they looked over the fence, they saw a thick, dark, black smoke pouring out of the trailer.
When fire crews went inside the mobile home, they found a man on the ground by the door. The man was removed from the trailer but was pronounced dead at the scene.

Firefighters said they were able to put off the flames quickly. The man’s son also lived with him at the mobile home but was not there at the time of the fire, according to SAFD. No other injuries were reported.
A medical examiner has not yet ruled out the victim’s cause of death. There were no other injuries reported and the cause of the fire is still being investigated.
