It’s been almost two decades since the original series ended, and just like that… the reboot is almost upon us. Thanks to the HBO Max’s revival, Sarah Jessica Parker and co. are back together to take fans back into the world of “The Sex and the City”, and the behind-the-scenes pictures aren’t making fans any more patient.
Sarah Jessica Parker Wants Fans To Guess What The Girls Would Be Up To In Present Times
“The Sex and the City” revival is in full swing of filming right now. Sarah Jessica Parker, one of the main characters and the show’s resident columnist, has certainly taken to documenting life during the show’s filming: from table reads to trailer life, on set reunions with Mr. Big, which was a moment most fans thought they’d never witness again, and most importantly, her character’s bffs, Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis).
Parker is best known for playing Carrie Bradshaw in “The Sex and the City”, for which she has earned two Emmy Awards, four Golden Globe Awards and three Screen Actors Guild Award.
In the latest pictures shared on the 56-year-old actress’ Instagram account, we see most of the original stars’ recognizable and beloved faces interacting with the show’s newest additions, like Nicole Ari Parker and Christopher Jackson. The two stars have been cast to play hedge fund banker Herbert Wexley and documentarian Lisa Todd Wexley.
Why Kim Cattrall’s Samantha Jones Won’t Be appearing In The Revival
The 10-episode revival titled “And Just Like That…” won’t be seeing Kim Cattrall return to reprise her role as Samantha Jones, one of the main original characters.
Explaining Cattrall’s absence in the forthcoming revival HBO Max season, HBO’s president of programming, Casey Bloys, said that the network definitely isn’t trying to have the starring women repeat their “30’s” again, instead, they want to show how much has changed since fans left the show behind in 2004 when it concluded.
“They’re not trying to say that these characters are reliving their 30s. It is very much a story about women in their 50s, and they are dealing with things that people deal with in their 50s.”
Touching on Samantha’s absence, he continued, “just as in real life, people come into your life, people leave.”
“Friendships fade, and new friendships start. So I think it is all very indicative of the real stages, the actual stages of life.”
