Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr.’s son isn’t a fan of their PDA

After almost 20 years of marriage, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. are still crazy in love. With that said, 9-year-old son, Rocky, would prefer they keep the PDA to a minimum.

“If we do [kiss in front of him], my son always turns around and says, ‘Shame, shame, shame. I know your name,’” Gellar, 44, told Us Weekly while discussing the ins and outs of parenting. “It’s funny. So now it’s become a thing just to make him mad.”

The couple — who married in 2002 — also share 12-year-old daughter Charlotte. While the “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” alum would like to limit her children’s amount of screen time, it simply isn’t possible for them in a pandemic world.

“It was their only form of communication for so long [amid the coronavirus pandemic],” Gellar said. “But you have to be aware, and you have to offer alternate experiences for it.”

Preteen Charlotte has just been granted a cell phone by her celeb parents, with Gellar sharing, “Now she has to take the bus. There’s a lot that goes into it, but I paid for that phone and I have access and I’m not going to sneak and look behind her back. I’m going to let her know that there will be someone over her shoulder.”

If either one of her kids does step out of line, Gellar makes sure that, “the punishment fit[s] the crime. If someone is not listening to me because they’re on their iPad and I grab their iPad, that’s an immediate consequence of something that’s related. But I don’t believe in arbitrary punishments.”

Back in July, Gellar opened up to ET about allowing her kids watch “Buffy” for the first time.

“My kids, up until the pandemic, hadn’t really seen anything that I had done except, I think they’d seen ‘Scooby Doo,’” Gellar shared. “But during the pandemic, my daughter and my son started ‘Buffy,’ and it was so interesting to watch their reactions…. My boy was into it for the villains, and my daughter was into it for the love stories.”
