Shaun Wright-Phillips has told talkSPORT that Leeds United will finish in the Premier League’s top-six next season.
The former Manchester City winger stated that Leeds are his ‘outside gamble’ to secure European football.
Marcelo Bielsa guided Leeds to a top ten finish in their first season back in England’s top-flight.
Now the expectations in Yorkshire will be to maintain that status and dream even bigger.
This is what Wright-Phillips had to say about those fifth and sixth spots in the Premier League next season.
“I am going to go Arsenal fifth,” said Wright-Phillips. “I am going to take that outside gamble and go with Leeds as well.”
With Marcelo Bielsa at the helm, Leeds fans will feel they can beat anyone and do anything.
Whilst many would liken them to being a gung-ho team that play with their foot on the pedal at all times.
The one important quality they showcased towards the back end of last season is their ability to keep clean sheets and improve in defence.
If they can continue that into the new campaign then many opposition teams will have nightmares of visiting Elland Road.
