Shinsuke Sato To Helm “My Hero Academia”

Renowned Japanese filmmaker Shinsuke Sato (“Kingdom,” “Alice in Borderland,” “I Am a Hero”) has signed on to direct the live-action adaptation of “My Hero Academia” for Legendary Entertainment.

He will make his English-language debut with the movie adapted from Kohei Horikoshi’s popular manga titles which have over 50 million copies in circulation.

The series has won over audiences worldwide with characters battling their way through high school in a world where 80% of Earth’s population manifests a superpower.

Superhero fanboy Izuku Midoriya was born without a quirk who, after a chance encounter with the world’s greatest superhero All Might, vows to work as hard as he can to become a symbol of peace and a beacon of hope for the world.

The anime series is currently in its fifth season, while a third movie based on the property hit Japan last week.
