Small business owner left in tears over vegan customer’s cruel email about free lolly

A small business owner was left in tears after being sent a cruel email by a vegan customer slamming her for including complimentary lollies in her order.

Carissa Collins, founder of skincare and beauty product company TLC Body, broke down after reading the needlessly aggressive email in a TikTok video.

The woman, from Gold Coast, Queensland, said: “Oh my God. Normally emails like this wouldn’t get to me too much.

“But today has been a day. I literally just received an email from a customer complaining about me giving them a lolly.”

As tears roll down her face, she said the message was worded “as if she stabbed them”.

Carissa then shared a screenshot of some of the email.

In it, the customer said she will never buy from her again as she longer “trusts her word”.

“I don’t even eat lollies – vegan or not – what do you think you are gaining by sending someone a bit of sugary junk in the first place?” the customer asks.

They finish by telling Carissa to “put more thought into things like this in the future”.

The emotional business owner then returned to the screen, asking: “When did it become okay to speak to people like this?

“I’m trying to do a nice thing by giving free gifts with orders, if you don’t like a lolly don’t eat it.

“I’m done with today, I can’t do today anymore.”

Carissa’s video has been seen more than 200,000 times since it was posted yesterday (August 26).

And she was flooded with messages of support from her loyal fans.

“I am vegan and get sent extra things that aren’t vegan all the time,” one wrote.

“I just give them to friends, it is the thought that counts.”

Another commented: “People are vicious online. It’s a reflection of them, not you. It’s embarrassing she feels it’s okay to speak to you like this. She’s not worth your energy.”

And a third added: “You did nothing wrong, she clearly has issues and it’s not a reflection on you. I personally love when I get lollies in any order. You got this.”
