Some Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to speculation that Joe Willock is about to leave the Gunners for Newcastle United.
What’s the story?
The Athletic have reported that Arsenal have agreed to sell Willock to Premier League rivals Newcastle.
The Magpies will pay the Gunners in excess of £20 million for the 21-year-old midfielder.
Personal terms have yet to be finalised.
What are Arsenal fans saying?
As you can see from the tweets below, Arsenal fans are not happy that manager Mikel Arteta and Technical Director Edu are selling Willock.
Well, some of them anyway.
While some are not happy that the Gunners are cashing in on an academy graduate who did well during his loan spell at Newcastle, others believe that the North London club should have held out for more transfer fee.
Willock spent the second half of last season on loan at Newcastle from Arsenal.
The midfielder did extremely well for the Magpies and played a big role in the club staving off the dreaded drop to the Championship.
Willock scored eight goals in 11 Premier League starts for Steve Bruce’s side.
The midfielder would have struggled to play regularly for Arsenal this season.
