Some Spurs fans are stunned over what Mourinho did in 5-2 loss with Roma

Jose Mourinho has had an eventful pre-season with AS Roma as the former Tottenham boss was sent off in this weekend’s friendly against Real Betis.

Alex Moreno’s questionable goal 58 minutes in sparked mass protests from the Roma players on the pitch. The Italian side believed that the Betis player had handled the ball into the net to give them the lead.

Lorenzo Pellegrini was dismissed for continuing to argue with the referee as the goal was given. Leading to Mourinho storming the pitch to confront the official, who also sent off the Portuguese manager.

Roma would go on to lose 5-2, with a further two players were sent off following Mourinho and Pellegrini’s dismissals on the night.

It was prime pre-season pantomime as Mourinho was sent off for Roma for something that in retrospect with be forgotten later in the campaign.

Indeed, there are high hopes for the former Spurs boss this season to impress with the Serie A side, who will be looking to break back into the top-four with the Italian top-flight shaping up to be one of the most interesting leagues in Europe this season.
