Tottenham Hotspur fans have lauded Japhet Tanganga for his performance during his side’s 1-0 win against Arsenal on Sunday.

On paper, it was a pre-season friendly between the two North London rivals, but out on that pitch and in the stands, it was something completely different.

Spurs fans were wowed with what they saw from their academy star who played as a right-back against the Gunners.

It was Tanganga’s run down the right-hand side, brute strength, then calmness to pick out Heung-Min Son that helped Spurs score the only goal of the game.

Right-back is an area of concern for Spurs, but supporters feel they have found the man to fill that void.

But will he be at the club by the time the summer transfer window slams shut?

There are suggestions that Nuno Espirito Santo might allow Tanganga to leave on loan.

But given his performance today, the Spurs faithful have made it clear that they would be daft to go down that road.
