Tottenham fans have reacted on Twitter to Davinson Sanchez being the only senior player to like Harry Kane’s statement on Instagram.
After days of speculation about Kane being absent for Tottenham training, the Englishman finally broke his silence.
The suggestion was that he was due back in training on August 2, but from Kane’s perspective, he was returning on Saturday (August 7) ‘as planned’.
It seems as though some Spurs players and staff were left ‘baffled’ by what he had to say, but the lack of backing on social media also seems interesting.
Spurs supporters think Sanchez is on his way out of Hotspur Way hence why he is the only senior player to ‘like’ Kane’s statement on Instagram.
There were a few youngsters liking the post, including some players who have just left the club, such as Joe Hart and Erik Lamela.
For some, they perhaps don’t want to be seen taking sides because there does seem to be a civil war brewing in North London between Kane and those in the boardroom.
Whilst perhaps, as the reports suggest, some players don’t agree with what their star striker has done.
It has to be questioned why Kane didn’t put out this statement on Monday or Tuesday when many were claiming that he was missing from training.
And why it was so badly timed. The statement was released not long after Pep Guardiola made it publicly clear that he wants to sign the Englishman.
But what was also interesting is that Kane didn’t acknowlege his future at any point, such as brushing off claims he wants to leave.
