It has previously been suggested that Kane was due back for pre-season at Tottenham on August 2, but it seems as though the player had other plans.

Despite days of speculation about the England captain being absent, he eventually released a statement on his Twitter account on Friday claiming that he will return to training ‘as planned’ on Saturday (7 August).

Well, the Telegraph now state that the Spurs players and staff are ‘baffled’ by Kane’s statement and it seems as though the supporters agree.

It does seem as though Spurs fans are fed up with this whole situation and many aren’t siding with Kane.

From an individual perspective, he produced the best season of his career last time out and helped England to their first major final since 1966 in the summer.

But it seems as though Kane is returning to a nightmare scenario at Hotspur Way.

Pep Guardiola has made it clear that he wants to sign Kane, but it seems as though Daniel Levy isn’t even coming to the negotiating table.

Either way, with a few weeks remaining until the summer transfer window slams shut, it’s going to be interesting to see how things pan out for Kane.
