A student has claimed to have caught on camera a UFO which he says he watched float above the night sky before mysteriously vanishing.
Robert Hampson was at a friend’s house and had gone outside for some fresh air after midnight when he said they “saw something really bright in the sky”.
The film production student and full time musician quickly grabbed his phone along with his friend Jake to record and take pictures of the unexplained object, which he said “looked like some sort of portal of a UFO”.
Robert, a Glasgow student, believes that the object was hovering for about an hour and “then it just disappeared”, Glasgow Live reports.
He said: “Me and my friend were outside last night and caught an unexplainable object floating in the sky in Glasgow.

“It happened at my friend’s house in the Merchant City.
“We basically went out for some fresh air and we seen something really bright in the sky. We started to record it and take pictures of it and it looked like some sort of portal of a UFO.
“It was probably hovering for about an hour and then just disappeared.”
The sighting comes after Glasgow and the surrounding area was named as a ‘UFO hotspot’ after a number of unexplained sightings in 2020.
In total there were five unusual incidents recorded in the skies above the city, according to data from The North West UFO Group – which gathers info on all UFO activity reported to specialist ‘alien’ investigation organisations in the UK.
The city was placed in third place in a survey that covered the whole of the UK, with one in four residents said to have reported close encounters.
