Teenager sings Ed Sheeran’s ‘Perfect’ with disabled friend for her birthday – and melts hearts across TikTok

An Australian duo have gone viral on TikTok for their heartwarming rendition of Ed Sheeran’s hit song, Perfect.

The lifelong friends performed the Sheeran number at Montana Rosts’ 16th birthday party.

The teenager has cerebral palsy and has known her singing partner, 13-year-old Dorrian Clarke, for her whole life.

In a clip posted on TikTok by Dorrian’s mother Sam, who uses the username @clarketribe, the teenaged pair held hands and sang along together to the pop song.

Montana can be seen swaying in her chair and looking up at Dorrian as he sings along and smiles as his friend enjoys herself on her birthday.

Sam explained that she has known Montana’s mother since they were teenagers and said Montana’s 16th birthday party was able to go ahead despite some coronavirus restrictions being in place.

Sam explained: “It’s been up and down. We live in Adelaide so at the moment we have good restrictions. Twenty per household, hence why the party could go ahead.”

Footage of the performance has been viewed on TikTok over 1.5 million times with many delighting in their close bond.

TikTok users responded in their thousands, with one writing: “What a beautiful young man… and what a wonderful friendship these two have. Loved watching the videos of them both.”

Another said: “Whoever raised that boy needs so much credit for raising an amazing, caring, sweet boy. We need more like him.”

According to Sam, Dorrian was going to take Montana to get her nose pierced and gave her a sweet 16th photo frame to mark the special occasion.
