He admitted to luring his victims back to his home before strangling them to death or drowning them before disposing of their bodies.

The horrific killer hid multiple victims under his floorboards – and when he ran out space, dismembered them and forced them down the drain.

Nilsen – who died aged 72 in 2018 – confessed to the 15 killings on his arrest, but went on to document them in a detailed autobiography and more than 250 hours of audio tapes.

Now, some of those tapes air for the first time in the new Netflix true-crime documentary, and it’s left viewers horrified.

Taking to Twitter, one wrote: “that new Dennis Nilsen documentary on Netflix is brutal.”

Another added: “So I just heard literally the first minute or less of @netflix
’s “Memories of a Murderer: The Nilsen Tapes” and OH MY GOD WTF HOLD ME.”

A third tweeted: “‘Memories of a Murderer: The Nilsen Tapes’ is a hauntingly brilliant true crime documentary. @netflix. A difficult but important look at the serial killer’s extreme, grandiose narcissism.”

The documentary comes almost a year after David Tennant portrayed the infamous serial killer in ITV drama, Des.

The three-part series also starred Daniel Mays, as the police officer who first discovered Nilsen’s horrific crimes, and Jason Watkins as biographer Brian Masters.
