The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Monday, September 20, teases that Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) will fear gold digger Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) is targeting Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) while Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) frets over exiled Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) issues.
At the Chancellor mansion on Monday’s Y&R episode, Mariah will insist that Abby has to stop taking care of her.
Mariah will think it’s time for Abby to focus on taking care of Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor instead.
When Sharon calls, she’ll be able to tell that Mariah isn’t doing very well.
Mariah won’t get into it over the phone, but she’ll admit she just needs to get out of the Chancellor mansion. Sharon will assure Mariah that she’ll be there when her daughter’s ready to talk.
Once Mariah hangs up, Abby will wonder if she’s sure that exiling herself from the baby is what’s best.
Tessa will think “exiling” is a big word considering they’re not going that far away. Mariah will insist that the last thing she wants to do is hurt Abby, but she’ll feel like distance is what she needs right now.
Abby will understand as she bids Mariah and Tessa farewell along with Devon Hamilton (Bryton James).
As Mariah’s leaving with Tessa, Dominic will start to cry. That’ll lead to Mariah pausing in the doorway before pushing through the pain and heading to The Grand Phoenix.
Once Tessa and Mariah are in their new suite, they’ll talk about staying there until they find a new place of their own.
Mariah will insist she has to get to a place where her feelings for the baby are familial, not maternal.
Tessa will realize that’s the language used in the surrogacy contract, so she’ll feel like Mariah’s thinking with her head, not her heart – and it’s Mariah’s heart that Tessa will be most worried about.
After Tessa hugs Mariah, she’ll insist she’s going to be there for all of it: the good, the bad and the ugly.
Tessa will want to do whatever she can to help Mariah with this transition period, so Mariah will appreciate the support and offer a kiss.
As Mariah and Tessa cuddle in bed, Mariah will admit that Tessa was the only thing besides “Bowie” that kept her sane in captivity.
Tessa will be glad she could serve as a source of comfort during the insanity and will think they’ve found a nice balance of helping each other.
Later, Mariah will think back on several “Bowie” memories before she has an epiphany. She’ll excitedly declare that she thinks she’s finally figured out a way to heal and move on.
Back at the Chancellor mansion, Abby will talk to Devon about how she thought they’d covered all their bases.
Devon will point out that Mariah couldn’t predict the trauma she’d go through or how she’d feel once the baby was born. He’ll just think Mariah needs time and understanding right now.
Once Devon heads home, Abby will feed Dominic and reflect on how much he must miss Mariah. She’ll get that they were locked up in that room alone and will desperately want a way to help Mariah through this.
Abby will hope that in time, Mariah can be part of their family arrangement as planned.
When Abby spots Mariah’s dropped bracelet, she’ll nearly call to tell her. However, Abby will ultimately decide it’s best to give Mariah the time and space she asked for.
As for Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan), she’ll meet with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) at Crimson Lights. Nate will calm Amanda down since she’ll be so stressed over Naya Benedict’s (Ptosha Storey) condition.
Amanda won’t want to lose her mom since she’s already lost her father and twin sister, but Nate will insist this isn’t life-threatening and will promise to help with treatment options.
Nate will urge Amanda to stop spreading herself so thin and accept support when she needs it.
Afterward, Amanda will offer updates to Devon, who’ll be glad she relied on Nate. Amanda will feel better about things since she’ll take one of Nate’s recommended doctor suggestions.
Amanda will just hope there’s a guilty verdict at Sutton Ames’ (Jack Landron) upcoming trial – and Devon will feel confident there will be.
After Amanda talks about the law firm she’s starting with Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose), she’ll get Devon to open up about the baptism.
Devon will admit it felt good to be up there supporting Dominic, but it was also strange since he’s the biological father and not the legal father.
Devon will note that he won’t be called “Dad” and will wonder what it says about him since he wants that.
Amanda will assure Devon that it says he cares deeply about his friends and that child. She’ll think Dominic is lucky to be so fiercely loved.
Next, Devon will put some music on and offer some wine as they celebrate Amanda’s law firm. He’ll hope they can also celebrate Amanda moving in and will extend the offer.
At Society, Sally will tell Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) the story of finding Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) in the park and helping him.
Sally will be surprised with herself for having the “mom gene” and will gush about how impressed she is with single working parents.
Chloe will remind Sally that Connor has a great mom in Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan), but Sally will give Adam big props for pulling double duty while Chelsea’s away.
After Sally leaves, Chelsea will video chat with Chloe and complain about Adam talking to Connor about their split. Chelsea will rant about Adam including Sharon and will feel like Adam manipulated the situation.
Chloe will want to focus on the fashion platform, so that’ll remind Chelsea that Connor said Sally helped calm him down.
After Chloe warns that Sally’s talents lie more with fashion than taking care of kids, Chelsea will still think she should offer her gratitude. Chloe won’t seem thrilled, but she’ll promise to pass along the message.
At the coffeehouse, Adam will push Connor to apologize to Sharon. Once Connor says he’s sorry for what he said and for running off, Sharon will offer plenty of reassurance.
Connor will be in better spirits as he sits down for a snack and opens up to Sharon, who’ll offer great guidance.
On the patio, Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) will find Adam sitting alone. Adam will think they’ve found some common ground since they both want what’s best for Connor and know Sharon’s always willing to help.
Back in the main dining area, Connor will spot Sally entering. He’ll tell Sharon that’s his dad’s friend and will wonder if Sally has any other embarrassing stories.
Sally will insist she’s got dozens and will get Connor laughing over how often she makes a fool of herself.
At Connor’s request, Sally will head back to the office with him as well as Adam. Meanwhile, Sharon will worry to Rey that Sally’s enthusiasm might be more about Adam than her job.
Sharon will mention that Sally has a reputation for targeting wealthy men and will think Adam is vulnerable since he’s lonely.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Sharon will struggle to shake Adam as usual, so don’t miss the complications ahead.
