Theft of £45,000 worth of gasoline from a family-run truck stop has sparked a petrol crisis.

Thieves stole 30,000 litres of diesel from a family-run truck stop in Portsmouth, prompting an appeal for information.

The moment a pipe was inserted into the truck stop’s fuel supply before it was pumped out was captured on camera by CCTV.

Dave O’Donnell, owner of Portsmouth Truckstop in Farlington, said £45,000 in fuel was stolen during the incident, which he described as a “make or break” situation for his small business. “This is a big hit for us..”

It’ll be a make-or-break situation,” Mr O’Donnell told the BBC.

“We’ve been through stuff like this before and come out on the other side, so hopefully we’ll be able to get through this.” ”

The Portsmouth Truckstop provides HGV drivers with not only a vital refueling stop, but also a place to park, shower, and eat. Since the theft, the number of truck drivers using the site hаs decreаsed.
