Thrifty woman transforms plastic seat into velvet dining chair for just £7.50 & it only took her a day

A THRIFTY woman has completely transformed a plastic seat into a stunning velvet dining chair – all for a tiny £7.50.

Roxy Nimmiz, 27, a content creator from Kenya, wanted to purchase new accent seating for her home but found the options way too pricey.

Instead, she decided to get crafty and turn an old plastic chair into a statement piece instead – all on a tiny budget.

To get the job done, Roxy picked up some foam, adhesive glue and fabric materials from a local shop better getting to work.

Amazingly, the crafty DIY-er used cardboard to get the shape she wanted before glueing the foam on top to create extra padding.

Photos taken throughout the process then show Roxy laying the fabric on top, tufting it into the seat before adding some finishing touches.

The materials cost £15 in total, with Roxy able to transform two plastic chairs at £7.50 for each piece of furniture – and the results are incredible.

Roxy revealed that she got her idea from Pinterest and it took her about a day to complete one chair.

“I’m really happy with the final results and I’m proud of the transformation I did on my plastic chair,” she said.

“I love how it has given my space an elegant look.”

Roxy posted photos of her DIY project on Facebook, where users were left blown away by her creation.
