No, September 5 is not National Dog Day. That day of celebrating our four-legged furry friends is on August 26. But if you visited a handful of TLC stars’ social media, you’d think it was a dog holiday. Are you ready to meet a few of the dogs of some of your favorite TLC stars?
Dogs and Puppies Have Their Own Holidays
There isn’t just one day to celebrate canine plays. August 26th is National Dog Day, a day when people share photos of their beloved dogs on social media. Some lucky dogs even end up featured on the nightly news segment about the holiday.
While National Dog Day includes dogs of all ages, puppies get their own special day of recognition. National Puppy Day falls annually on March 23rd. If you ask most dog owners, every day is a day to celebrate dogs.
TLC Stars’ Instagram Gone to the Dogs
A few TLC stars coincidentally shared photos of their dogs on their Instagram over the Labor Day holiday weekend. There didn’t seem to be any special occasion, they just wanted to share pictures of their pups.
Stars from Sister Wives, OutDaughtered, Big People Little World, and 7 Little Johnstons all shared cute photos of their dogs. Get ready for cuteness overload!
Sister Wives: Janelle Brown Shares Relatable Dog Mom Struggle
Sister Wives star Janelle Brown posted a Sunday morning photo on her Instagram of her two dogs. In the snapshot, the dogs are relaxing peacefully on the couch with a blanket under them. Janelle shares a relatable tale (tail?) of her dogs needing to go outside at the same time every day. Her 5 a.m. wake-up call is something many dog owners experience.
However, Janelle is unfazed by the early hour, noting she is a morning person. She shared a tribute to “lazy Sunday mornings.”
Last month, Janelle played dogsitter for her son Gabe’s dog. She is currently living in an RV on the family’s Coyote Pass land, giving the pups a lot of room to run.
Sister Wives returns to TLC with new episodes next month. Click here to read everything we know about Season 16 so far.
OutDaughtered: Meet the Busby’s New Puppy
2020 and 2021 were record-breaking years for pet adoptions. The Busby family from TLC’s OutDaughtered fell victim to the puppy fad. They already have a French bulldog named Beaux.
In July, Adam and Danielle surprised their six daughters with a puppy. Gus is a Bichon Frise Shih Tzu mix. Surprisingly, Beaux took to the new puppy immediately.
Isabel Roloff Finds Comfort in Her Brother’s Dog
Isabel Roloff marked the anniversary of her brother’s tragic death on September 3. The LPBW star shared photos on her Instagram in honor of her late brother, Tomas Garreton. She also shared videos on her Instagram Stories of her brother’s dog.
In the moving post, she revealed that her brother’s dog knows the ‘speak’ command, which she describes as singing. Fittingly, her brother was a musician himself, the lead singer of Profane Sass.
Elizabeth Johnston Shows Off Puppy’s Growth
The Busby’s weren’t the only ones who got a puppy this year. 7 Little Johnstons daughter, Elizabeth Johnston, adopted a puppy a few months ago. The TLC star shared a photo on her Instagram Stories of the puppy’s impressive growth.
Elizabeth was in her feelings about pup Georgia’s rapid growth from eight-weeks-old to five-months-old.
We don’t know why so many TLC stars shared dog pictures on the same day, but we are not complaining! Drop a photo of your four-legged friend in the comments below!
