Tom Hanks, His Dog & A Robot Go On An Adventure This November

Even though COVID cases seem to be on the rise and more mask/vaccine mandates are being implemented around the US, it appears that we’re still going to see some of those 2020 films that got delayed or sent to streaming services finally get released later this year. And perhaps one of the most anticipated of the group is the Tom Hanks film, “Finch.”

After an extended delay, it appears that “Finch” is finally going to be released by Apple TV+ on November 5. And in honor of that date announcement, the studio has released a first-look photo showing Hanks and his compadres that join him in the post-apocalypse.

Earlier this year, it was announced that Apple purchased the distribution rights to the new post-apocalyptic sci-fi film, “Finch,” from Universal. The film stars Tom Hanks as a scientist that is so worried about what will happen to his dog after he passes away that he creates a robot to look after the pup. Of course, things happen and the trio ends up on a journey in the post-apocalypse.

Hanks isn’t the only big name involved with the project, as it’s the first major film from “Game of Thrones” director, Miguel Sapochnik. As you might expect, “Finch” had a lot of early buzz but that was all derailed by COVID, which put the film off the release schedule for months. That is, until Apple stepped up and is now set to release the film on November 5 on Apple TV+.

While we’re unclear if “Finch” will join the other Hanks films over the past several years as instant Oscar-contending material, the November date is a solid sign that Apple is feeling strongly about the feature. You can see the first-look photo below:
