Tyson Fury Launches Fundraiser In Honor of Hospitalized Daughter

Boxing champion Tyson Fury is currently in a bout with every parent’s worst nightmare as his newborn daughter was admitted to the ICU shortly after being born. The British star has been updating fans since his wife, Paris, gave birth over the weekend to their baby, Athena.

It’s unclear exactly what happened, but Athena was admitted to intensive care and the boxer had been asking for prayers.

“Please can everyone pray for my baby girl who was born this morning. Athena Fury born 8/8/21. Thanks. God is great,” Fury wrote on social media. He later added that, “Paris is doing great,” but said Athena still needed prayers as she remained in the ICU.

The prayers and medical attention worked, as Fury updated fans on Monday that, “The baby is in a stable position and doing well – hopefully she comes out of ICU today.”

In honor of his baby girl and her fight, Tyson Fury launched a fundraiser Monday morning for the Ronald McDonald House, Alder Hey Liverpool.

“Do you want to join me in making a difference? I’m raising money in aid of Alder Hey Children’s Charity and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me,” Fury wrote in the description of the GoFundMe. As of this posting, the page has raised over $16,000.

Fury is also leading a charity auction and has put up 2 signed WBC boxing belts for the winner. Standing outside the Children’s Hospital in Liverpool, Fury made the announcement and urged fans to donate.
