The quirky house is built in an underground bunker and is even hidden from view with a grass roof, and it’s now gone on sale for an eye-watering £467,000 – but at least it’s quite cosy
An underground home fit for a Bond villain has gone on sale and could be yours for an eye-watering £467,000.
The house is built in an underground bunker and comes with a grass roof, eight-foot skylights, and a natural cooling system.
Located in Massachusetts, US, the three-bedroom home has been described as “straight out of a James Bond movie” thanks to its strange appearance – and is ideal for a buyer wanting a one-of-a-kind home.
It’s on the market for $640,000 (£467,000) right now, and the “earth-sheltered” property is built into the ground and is not only aesthetically pleasing but also energy-efficient – so should at least be cheap to heat.

Inside, the property retains a bunker feel with exposed walls and ceilings, but prospective buyers will have all the comforts desired, with the property kitted out with modern appliances and gadgets.
Concerned about light? No need – there are wraparound picture windows and eight-foot skylights to allow for plenty of natural light in the concrete abode.
The current owners have added pops of colour with red furniture and wooden accents, largely allowing the surrounding countryside to serve as the focal point.

Meanwhile outside, there is plenty of space to enjoy the natural surroundings, with the home located on top of a long private driveway on an 11.59-acre plot.
“This truly one-of-a-kind, earth-sheltered home atop a private winding driveway into the woods, looks like it was lifted straight out of a James Bond movie,” the agent has described the house.
The property is currently on sale for $640,000 with Greg Maiser of RE/MAX Professional Associates.

Meanwhile, an outrageous flat advert that says the new tenant can’t cook meat or shower in the evening has been mocked online.
A picture of the advert has been shared on Reddit, and it clearly states that for a whopping £945 a month the new tenant will get just one room, and access to a kitchen.
However, they won’t be able to cook whatever they like as the owner is a vegan, so meat is off the menu – as is watching TV, playing music, or showering in the evening.
Access to Wi-Fi is an extra £50, and as the advert explains with a lot of exclamation marks, if you have guests over they must stay in the room at all times, and can’t use the bathroom.
