Walkers launches new crisp flavours – from Madras curry to chicken burrito

Walkers crisps has brought back its ‘Taste Icons’ range – but instead of using big chains like Nando’s back in 2020, they have added your favourite local restaurant flavours.

The iconic crisp company has never been short on producing much loved tastes ranging from Ready Salted to the more adventurous tastes like the KFC Zinger.

Four new limited edition flavours have been created that have been inspired by the local eateries we all love and enjoy.

Walkers have released the range to help celebrate and support some much loved cuisines around the country that have helped many of us through the pandemic.

In order to select the range, Walkers selected four local hero restaurants and have turned their most popular dishes into the nation’s favourite savoury snack.

Brand-new limited edition Taste Icon crisps include Fish and Chips (inspired by The Wetherby Whaler in Yorkshire), Madras Curry (inspired by the Radhuni restaurant in Loanhead) , Thai Green Curry (inspired by Mantra in Newcastle) and Chicken Burrito (inspired by Yucca in London).

Walkers has paid tribute to local restaurants with its new flavours

The crisp packets come in three sizes – a 50g grab pack costing 85p, a 80g five bag multi pack costing £1 and a 65g pack that costs a quid.

Better still, each bag also provides £5 off the food bill at thousands of local restaurants.

What a good excuse to treat yourself and help local businesses.

The promotion is valid until the 15th February 2022 so you have plenty of time to stock up on crisps and vouchers.

All you need to do to claim your £5 voucher is to go to Walkers website and there you can select a local participating restaurant of your choice!

Katherine Cook, from Walkers, said: “Over the past 18 months, we have seen that, no matter what, local restaurants have been there for us as a nation.”

“This year, Walkers is supporting and celebrating local restaurants by re-creating the flavours of the delicious dishes of four, much-loved local restaurants on our crisps and telling their iconic stories on our packs.”

She added: “We have also enlisted thousands of restaurants across the nation to participate in the offer to drive footfall to local restaurants (within five miles of every diner).

“At Walkers, we are proud to be able to give back to local businesses.”

Fish and chips in a crisp, sounds good to us!
