WELCOME to Plathville rebels Ethan and Moriah Plath have been hit with tickets for speeding, no insurance and more after moving out of their strict home.
Ethan, 23, and his wife Olivia, 23, are estranged from his parents Barry and Kim, while Moriah, 19, moved out and often breaks her parents’ strict rules.
But The Sun can exclusively reveal that since moving out, Ethan and Olivia have broken the rules of the road as well.
On January 25, 2021, Ethan was pulled over in his 1987 Dodge Ram while driving in Georgia, according to a citation.
He was hit with one ticket for suspended vehicle registration and another for no proof of insurance.
He was ordered to pay a $250 fine for each ticket.
Back on October 9, 2018, the same month as his wedding to Olivia, he was slapped with a ticket for speeding 69mph in a 55mph zone while driving the same car.
He was ordered to pay a $150 fine.
As for Moriah, she received a speeding ticket when she was pulled over while driving her 2010 Infiniti on January 3, 2021.
She was busted going 89 in a 55mph zone and was ordered to pay a fine.
Barry, 53, and Kim, 48, raised their nine children on their 57-acre farm in Cairo, Georgia with no computers, video games and other modern amenities.
The Sun even reported their seven youngest children Micah, 20, Moriah, 19, Lydia, 17, Isaac, 13, Amber, 10, Cassia, eight, and Mercy, six, did not have birth certificates until 2017 after their at-home births.
Ethan is estranged from his parents because they didn’t agree with Olivia’s influence on their son and the other children, leading to a blowout fight on the second season of the show.
Micah and Moriah moved out of the family home to live a more modern lifestyle.
Though their parents don’t agree with Micah’s modeling and Moriah’s racy outfits, they do visit them often.
Ethan and Olivia have been facing marital issues this season, as he has struggled with his estrangement from his younger siblings.
Ethan said: “Something that I think about quite often is the relationship I gave up with my siblings for my marriage and honestly it pisses me off to no end. I kind of feel like my mom used my younger siblings as leverage to get me to do what she wanted me to do.
“She told me, you won’t be able to see your younger siblings until we’re okay and we’re okay means you guys just do what we want and then we’ll all be alright. That’s just messed up.”
On this week’s episode of Welcome to Plathville, Olivia opened up about her miscarriage.
She told Moriah: “I did get pregnant. A little while back. And I miscarried.
“I felt bad for being relieved, but I was so relieved because it was, like, a wake-up call of, like, ‘I’m not ready to have a kid. I don’t want a kid.’ Ethan was just as relieved as me.”
In her confessional, Olivia continued: “I know the topic of miscarriage is something that’s like, super personal and affects a lot of people and people feel very differently. But I also think there’s a stigma around it and there’s not a lot of freedom to talk about it.
“I know when I went through a miscarriage, I felt really alone because I was glad. And I felt like I was wrong for feeling that way and I wish I’d had more people to talk to who could’ve been a sounding board or who could’ve had a different perspective, maybe than what I was raised with.”
