According to L’Equipe, West Ham have submitted a €14m (£11.9m) bid to sign Marseille colossus Duje Caleta-Car, a long-term target for the Irons.
What’s the story?
Well, nearly a year ago now, West Ham approached the 24-year-old, and were said to be readying a contract worth £150,000-a-week.
However, Caleta-Car turned down a move to east London.

Now, L’Equipe believe West Ham have returned with a new offer, which could rise to around €17m (£14.4m) with add-ons.
With the 16-cap Croatia international under contract until 2023, Marseille are demanding €20m (£17m) if they are to sell their No.15.
L’Equipe believe other Premier League clubs are also monitoring the situation.
Sadly for West Ham, he’s agreed a move to Tottenham
Interestingly, some have said that Caleta-Car is already on his way to Spurs after agreeing a deal to join Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
It was the Croatian news outlet Sportklub who claimed that the centre-back was on his way to N17, in what was a very bold statement.
If that is the case, it seems as if David Moyes is attempting to spoil the plans of West Ham’s London rivals by hijacking the deal.
Intriguingly, Tottenham have just announced the signing of Cristian Romero from Atalanta.
In our view, that suggests there’s a chance Spurs have abandoned their pursuit of Caleta-Car, which would be music to West Ham’s ears.
Keep an eye on this saga, with just weeks remaining until Deadline Day.
