Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy thinks that if Ben White cost Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal £50 million, then Harry Kane will cost Manchester City much more than £100 million, according to The Sun.

What’s the story?

As reported by The Sun, Arsenal paid Brighton and Hove Albion £50 million in transfer fee to sign former Leeds United loanee White in the summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old central defender has played just one season in the Premier League, but the youngster was part of the England squad that reached the Euro 2020 final this summer.

City want to sign Kane from Tottenham this summer and are willing to pay £100 million.

However, according to the report, Spurs chairman Levy has ‘told close colleagues that if a player like White was worth £50m, there was no way one of the world’s best strikers would ever be sold for as little as £100m’.

Does Daniel Levy have a point?

White is a very talented and promising young defender who can also play at right-back and in midfield.

Yes, the 23-year-old has had just one season in the Premier League, but the former Leeds loanee has his best years ahead of him.

However, Kane is at the top of his game now and is one of the best strikers in the world.

True, the England international is 28 now, but he is a proven goalscorer who is pretty much guaranteed to bang in the goals for fun at whichever club he goes to next.

Kane has scored 166 goals in 245 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

Strikers cost a lot of money, and Levy is right to ask for more than £100 million.

Also remember, Kane has a contract at Spurs, who are not obliged to sell the England international this summer.
