On October 13, 2021, it was first reported by TMZ that Howie was rushed to the hospital after he fainted at a Starbucks in Los Angeles.
According to witnesses, the AGT judge was able to sit up by the time the LA Fire Department arrived and it was later revealed that the incident might have been caused by low blood sugar.

Throughout their 40 year marriage, Terry and Howie have welcomed three children together.
The Mandel children include: Jackie, 37, Alex, 32, and Riley, 29.
Over the years, the Mandel kids have stayed out of the spotlight like their mother but earlier this year, Howie and Jackie sat down with People magazine in a rare appearance to talk about their shared mental health struggles.
Both Howie and his daughter Jackie suffer from anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorder.
“I’m not proud of that gift I’ve given her,” Howie told the media outlet. “But our coping skills are to find the light.”
Jackie, who is now a mom to Abbey, 6, and Axel, 5, went on to talk about the struggles she has faced over the years, adding that the Covid-19 pandemic has been ” really, really hard” on her mental health.
“My anxiety sometimes leads to depression. I went through the extreme and I just locked myself in,” Jackie recalled. “I’ve been isolated and scared for a year and a half and now that things are starting to open back up, I’m really not at the same place that most people are. I’m working with a therapist to get back out into the world.”
Despite having issues, Jackie said that having her dad understand what she goes through has been “helpful.”
“My dad is very open about going to therapy and erasing the stigma,” Jackie continued. “Whenever I was upset or sad or having a bad day, I know I could reach out.”
