Who was John Kelly?

John Kelly was half of the TikTok skit duo, @texandjohn.

Alongside his 24-year-old son Tex, Kelly made hilarious skit videos, as well as pranks and other content to humour their large TikTok following.

Since joining the short-form video sharing platform in January 2020, the channel now boasts over 2.5M followers and has accumulated over 48M likes!

The father-and-son duo made quite the impact on TikTok.

Outside of social media stardom, John Kelly was also the co-owner of Humboldt Construction.

Tex Keith confirms father’s passing

Sadly, Kelly’s son confirmed the passing of his father via a statement.

The statement read: “Dad’s passing was a surprise to us all and something that we will be feeling the toll of for a very long time.

“John Kelly lived an amazing life, full of hard work and love. He was never negative and as many of you have experienced personally with him, he was always someone you wanted to be around because he made you feel special and loved. He was a great father, son, brother, and friend to countless people.

“My family and I are absolutely devastated by his passing and while we are trying to still process all of this, life is unapologetically continuing all around us with hospital bills and expenses.”

At the time of writing, a cause of death is yet to be disclosed.

Tex Keith also shared a touching TikTok tribute to his father, as well as setting up a GoFundMe page.

At the time of publishing, the GoFundMe has reached a hefty $13,500 out of the $15,000 set target.
