On April 12, 2021, Tia announced that her father, Kenny, had been diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer back in March.
“Although not curable, we are all thankful it’s treatable with Chemo,” Tia shared with fans.
“Dad said it was boring, but he had a tv, ice water& a recliner so he had it made, if you wonder why I handle stress with humor, there it is.”
“Hoping for minimal side effects and that he’ll handle treatment like a champ-so far so good!” she continued.
On June 10, Tia updated her fans on her father’s condition in honor of Father’s Day and revealed that his cancer was “shrinking in multiple places.”
“I hate that this God awful diagnosis is what made me realize how precious time is, but I’ll never take a text, conversation, or moment for granted again,” she said.
