Jack Wilshere has told talkSPORT that he would take Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham at Arsenal.
Former Chelsea winger, Shaun Wright-Phillips, added by saying that Arsenal need that goalscorer in their team, but questioned whether Abraham would suit their system.
It seems like every summer, Arsenal are linked with a Chelsea player, but at least this time, he’s not an ageing player.
This is what Wilshere and Wright-Phillips had to say when asked about Abraham, 23, possibly joining Arsenal.
On whether he would take Abraham at Arsenal: “Yes, I would,” responded Wilshere. “They need a goalscorer.
Wright-Phillips added: “Arsenal don’t play the way Chelsea play. When you go to certain places, you have to try and fit into that system.
“Unless you are a Didier Drogba or a Becks, they are not going to change the system to suit you.
“At this moment in time, they need someone who is going to score them goals. They play well, don’t score the goals and somebody goes down the other end and scores. Then it’s same old Arsenal.”
Arsenal have already made their big-money signing this summer in Ben White and many fear that they won’t splash the cash like that again before the August 31 deadline.
If that’s the case then it would be typical Arsenal, bringing in a big-money player near the start of the summer and then it fading away – just in time for those season tickets to be checked in!
Mikel Arteta has Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as one of his main men up top, but he hasn’t looked himself for over a year now.
Whilst his partner in crime, Alexandre Lacazette could be heading for the exit door this summer.
