MOST people’s idea of a bad date probably consists of boring chat or being lumped with a pricey bill.
However, one woman has shared her shock when her Tinder match’s “dead ex” turned up very much alive at the restaurant where they were dining.
Hannah, 20, was messaging a man she met on the dating app for a few weeks before they went on their first date to The Brasserie in Lancaster for dinner.
Speaking to LancsLive, she explained how, although he seemed like a “nice” person, she wasn’t too sure if they’d be meeting again.
However, over their meal, her date started opening up about his heartbreak after his ex-girlfriend passed away, and proceeded to show her pictures of the woman on his phone.
She said: “He was talking about his recently deceased partner who’d died from cancer and how he was struggling post-death. Sympathy was given because, well, that’s a horrible thing to go through.”
Turns out the dead partner was not so dead
The woman continued: “All was going well until he looks up, goes white and bolts to the loos.”
Confused, Hannah looked around the room, only to spot a woman who looked “eerily” like his late former partner.
She revealed: “Turns out the dead partner was not so dead. In fact, the girl had two children with him and thought he had been working overtime to support them.”
The woman told her she was the sixth date he had told the devastating tale to, leaving her “shocked”.

Hannah left money on the table to cover her part of the bill and walked out of the restaurant, hearing screaming behind her as she left.
The incident took place before the pandemic, and the woman hasn’t been on a date since – in part due to coronavirus restrictions.
