Now that the weather is starting to chill, there’s nothing like a little evening tipple to warm you up.
Traditionally, around this time of year people start to crack out the full bodied whiskies and rums and although gin is seen as more of a summer drink, there’s a new brand on the horizon destined to shake things up a bit.
Mermaid Gin and their latest vodka instalment are produced in Ryde at the Isle of Wight Distillery, the first and only distillery on the island.
The beautiful sculpted bottles are made from sustainable materials and are plastic free, the brand also recently achieved Net Zero status after two years of being plastic-free.
Notably one of the most eye-catching features is the bottle which features sculpted scales which swirl downwards around the bottle to resemble the tail of the mythical sea creature.
The glass bottle is decorated with biodegradable paint and features an all-natural cork with a wooden top and a paper seal. The paper neck tag is made from recyclable, biodegradable paper and the specially designed boxes have removed all sellotape and instead are replaced with metal.
Sustainability is key both at the distillery door of Mermaid Gin but also around the surrounding environment, the company is actively investing in projects that actively protect the environment and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by an equivalent amount.
As well as being a fantastic way to support a local distillery that is passionate about restoring and preserving the environment, the bottles are undoubtedly the ideal option to gift to friends and family over the gifting season.
