TikTok user Sheena Marie demonstrated the little-known tip on her page, which has since racked up an astonishing 2.1 million views.
In the clip, she shows herself holding the bun with the hotdog inside, before going in with the condiments.
She squeezes a generous amount of ketchup in a zig-zag motion before rotating the sausage.
And while it might seem pointless, and perhaps more time consuming, there’s a very good reason why.
By doing this, the messy sauce moves to the bottom, hidden underneath the sausage.
This means you won’t have to worry about the sauce dripping off, or covering your face as you bite into it.
Some were pretty impressed by the simple hack, however, others were left confused.
Few suggested putting the sauce on the bun before adding the frankfurt, which will give you the same result.
Either way, we think it’s genius and is particularly useful for normally messy eaters.
