You’ve been reheating pizza wrong – hack delivers crunchy base and melted cheese

Brits are often divided by when they most like to tuck into their pizza – fresh from the box or out of the fridge the next day.

And, both sides of the debate are convinced that they’re in the right.

But, one thing that comes up frequently as an argument against leftovers is that hot-food lovers would rather bin it as pizza just doesn’t reheat well.

If you don’t fancy a cold slice then it’s likely that you’ve nuked your pizza in the microwave and been left with a soggy bottom.

Luckily, there is a trick to making your leftover pizza taste just like it did the night before, but it doesn’t involve the microwave.

Instead, to put the crunch back into your slice you need to grab a frying pan (preferably non stick).

A “New Jersey home cook” named Tara posted her clever hack on TikTok, @aldentediva, where it quickly went viral.

Place your pizza in a frying pan

Tara noted that the best way to warm up last night’s pizza is with a pan… and some water.

We know, weird right?

Demonstrating her trick on social media, Tara captioned the clip: “Don’t knock it till you try it.”

And, we have to admit it looks like she knows what she’s doing…

To reheat the slice, Tara pops her pizza into a hot pan before pouring a little water around it and then putting the lid on top to allow it to steam.

It takes just a minute or two and when reheated the pizza is crunchy, hot and covered in melty cheese.

It looks like it just came out of the box!

Tara’s video racked up 2.5 million views and has 142,500 likes.

In the comments, one fan said: “Confession: I would rather eat it this way than fresh.”

“Only way to do it,” added another.

While a third said: “Does it not get soggy?” to which Tara replied “nope”.

Another fan wrote: “I’m constantly amazed by how many things TikTok has taught me I’ve been doing wrong my whole life.”

The hack steams the cheese instead of recooking it like an oven would – so you don’t risk burning the pizza.

We can’t wait to try this.
