FANS first met Angela Deem in season two of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days.
In March 2021, Angela, 55, revealed that she lost 90lbs in just under a year.
On Wednesday, July 28, 2021, Angela posted a picture on Instagram highlighting her recent weight loss transformation.
Back in March, Angela revealed that her weight loss came after undergoing liposuction, a gastric sleeve procedure and a breast reduction.
“I noticed when I went to Nigeria last time, I was just putting on weight,” she told Us Weekly. “I mean, like, I think I gained 20, almost 25 lbs. And it just hit me all at once.
“I couldn’t even walk in the grocery store with the kids to get groceries. I was out of breath.”
Angela revealed to the media outlet that she thought she would die if she didn’t lose weight.
“There’s benefits behind doing it for myself because it also benefits the grandkids being around me longer and [Michael] and I being together longer,” she explained. “I did it for myself to stay alive … and [to] benefit the ones I love.”
Following her drama during the season 6 Tell-All, many fans have since bashed the realty TV star for her weight loss, saying that it had nothing to do with health and everything to do with appearance.
“Angela keeps hollering about she had the weight reduction surgery because she had trouble breathing… Never crossed her mind to stop damaging her breathing apparatus (lungs) by inhaling cigarette smoke 10,000 times a day, huh?” one used posted on Reddit.
Another fan added in: “Her initial reason for surgery was to look sexy for Michael. That’s what she told him. After consulting with the doctors, she learned it was going to help her breathe. That became her new reason,” adding in that “fame has gone to her head.”
Other fans commented that while she might have a new look, it does not change her “ugly” personality that is displayed on TV.
90 Day Fiancé first aired back in January of 2014. The TLC reality show is centered around long-distance relationships.
The show description reads:
“Long-distance relationships have challenges that are sometimes difficult to overcome but consider if the distance traveled was halfway around the world and a couple had just 90 days to decide whether the courtship should conclude with marriage. That’s the situation facing the men and women profiled in this series, which shares the complexities of international romances.”
Since its first release, the show has released 18 different spin-offs including:
