According to BILD, Crystal Palace have submitted a bid worth €8m (£6.8m) to sign Schalke 04 defender Ozan Kabak – Leicester have matched the offer.

What’s the story?

Well, the German news outlet believe Patrick Vieira’s side have made a move for the 21-year-old, with Brendan Rodgers in hot pursuit.

Schalke 04 are desperately trying to offload Kabak, as they find themselves in severe financial difficulty and need the cash.

A few weeks ago, it was said that the south Londoners were in discussions with Schalke 04 over a deal for the 12-cap Turkey international.

Now, that would seem to be true, as a bid has been submitted.

After hearing this news, it will be interesting to see if Tottenham react.

According to Tutto Mercato Web, Tottenham are also keen on the centre-back, who Jürgen Klopp called ‘incredible‘ last season.

Spurs have lost Toby Alderweireld, while Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez failed to impress last season.

As a result, you can see why Nuno Espirito Santo might want another centre-back.

Tottenham have already secured the signing of Cristian Romero.

However, with Schalke 04 desperate to offload Kabak, Spurs may presumably see a chance to sign a big talent on the cheap.

Keep an eye on this saga, with just a few weeks to go until Deadline Day.
