Fewer rain showers, hotter weather heading into September

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A few showers and thunderstorms developed again Monday, but were expected to dissipate during the evening.

While a few widely scattered showers or thunderstorms could form again Tuesday, generally drier and hotter weather is expected for the rest of the week, and likely through Labor Day.

Temperatures will climb into the middle to upper 90s in the next several days and could reach 100 degrees over Labor Day weekend.
