Incredible vintage Airbnb takes you back to the 1970s and boasts stunning beach views

An Airbnb host has transformed her home into a stunning 1970s style vintage beach house with incredible views overlooking Margate beach.

Millennials are loving the 1970s vibe right now, with many even bringing some pieces of the aesthetic into their home design. More homes are being kitted out in rattan furniture and several shades of burnt orange.

However, one Airbnb host went one step further and transformed part of her home into a 1970s haven, offering a special nostalgia-filled beach staycation in Kent.

Jessie Rose has converted the entire top floor of her central Margate townhouse into a studio flat, and now rents it out to holidaymakers from all over the UK.

The restored blue bathroom had to be shipped from Cornwall

The studio features an amazing original 70s kitchenette, authentic vintage lighting and a restored blue bathroom suite which had to be shipped up from Cornwall.

It boasts iconic 70s wallpaper, burnt orange kitchen tiles, orange sofa and orange cushions at the window seat, overlooking Dreamland’s Ferris wheel.

Jessie said: “You need to come through my house to get to the studio but it’s its own private floor with a private bathroom, living room and lockable door. It’s the top of the house so you will need to go up a few flights of stairs!

“It has beautiful views of the beach and Dreamland which are both a one minute walk away!”

The flat costs £60 per night, and can sleep up to three people – and despite being incredibly popular, it’s still got some availability for September and October.

Ten people have left five star reviews for the studio in August, recommending it as one of the best places to stay in Margate.

Charlotte said: “A fab few days in Margate at Jessie’s apartment. So much thought has gone into the design with the reclaimed and restored original 70s kitchen and bathroom. Loved the window seat with the sea views.

“A great location to get to Dreamland, the beach and all the lovely restaurants in and around the old town. Jessie was an excellent host and very welcoming. Would absolutely return!”

Elizabeth added: “Jessie’s 70s studio was amazing! The decor and attention to detail were fantastic, it was in a brilliant location, and it had everything we needed. Jessie was lovely and had some great vintage shop recommendations. The check-in process was easy and she made us feel very welcome.”
