Jonathan Scott says he’s ‘dating up’ with Zooey Deschanel

Jonathan Scott knows a good thing when he sees it.

In a new interview, the 43-year-old said he was “dating up” while gushing about his girlfriend of two years, Zooey Deschanel.

“We just celebrated our second anniversary, yeah,” he told Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday, “and I know I am dating up.”

Two years into the relationship with Deschanel, 41, Scott said he plans “to keep raising the bar and keep up with those expectations.”

In honor of their second anniversary, Deschanel shared a sweet selfie of the couple on Instagram.

“2 years and still my favorite 😍,” she captioned the photo posted on Aug. 4.

Scott shared her sentiment, commenting, “I knew two years ago that you were gonna change my life.”

On his own account, Scott reminisced about the day he met the “New Girl” star while filming a “Carpool Karaoke” segment for “The Late Late Show with James Corden” in 2019.

“Who knew that two years ago, walking into the Carpool Karaoke offices, I’d meet you and my life will change forever,” Scott captioned pics from that day. “🥰 thank you for making everything better @zooeydeschanel ❤️ (time really does fly when you’re having the most fun!)”

The couple was first linked in Sept. 2019 just one week after Deschanel revealed she was splitting from her husband of four years, Jacob Pechenik.

Deschanel has two children from the marriage — daughter Elsie Otter, 6, and son Charlie Wolf, 4. Scott does not have any children of his own.
