Mathis, Thomas Join “Pet Sematary” Prequel

Samantha Mathis (“Billions”) and Henry Thomas (“The Haunting of Bly Manor”) have joined the “Pet Sematary” follow-up currently in the works at Paramount Players.

The pair join previously announced cast members Jackson White, Forrest Goodluck, Jack Mulhern, Natalie Alyn Lind, Isabella Star LeBlanc and Pam Grier in the film which began shooting last week.

The project will serve as an origin story to the Stephen King novel about a family that discovers a rather disturbing animal graveyard in the woods behind their new home – and the even more dangerous burial ground beyond that.

Jeff Buhler wrote the most recent draft while Lindsey Beer directs the project which will debut exclusively on the Paramount+ service.

Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian are producing.
