Mike Richards Out As EP of ‘Jeopardy!’ and ‘Wheel of Fortune’

Mike Richards, the executive producer of “Jeopardy!” and “Wheel of Fortune,” has exited the popular syndicated game shows, Sony executive Suzanne Prete said in a note to staff that was first shared on Twitter by BuzzFeed News’ David Mack.

“We had hoped that when Mike stepped down from the host position at Jeopardy! it would have minimized the disruption and internal difficulties we have all experienced these last few weeks,” Prete said. “That has clearly not happened.”

It remains unclear if Richards, who previously stepped down as “Jeopardy!” host following backlash after several prior controversies were unearthed, resigned or was fired from his role as executive producer.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
