At District Chronicles, we know how important good education is. We wouldn’t be able to write such reliable news articles if we didn’t have a proper education. That’s why we want to give one winner $1,000 toward the cost of their education.
Terms of Participation
- All university and college students over 18 years old are eligible.
- Should be passionate about education.
How Can You Participate?
We would like you to write a short essay of about 600 – 1000 words.
You can choose one of the two topics below:
- Topic 1: What is your favorite hobby and why?
- Topic 2: Write an essay on the following sub-headlines:
• What new technology would you like to see in your favorite hobby?
• Tell us about a memorable news article you read online.
Note: Make sure that the views expressed in this essay are original and your own. They should not be plagiarized from any other source. If you could attach a relevant picture, that would be an added plus.
After you have completed the article, please send it to districtchronicles7@gmail.com
Deadline for essay submission is June 1st of each year.
When submitting your essay, please include the following details:
- Full name
- Address
- Phone Number
- School name
- Your School Address
- Proof that you are a student
Announcement of the Winner
After processing all the applications we receive within the deadline stated above, we will choose the most eligible candidate as the winner by June 10th. The winner will be selected on June 15th.
If you miss out on the application deadline, don’t worry. This is an annual scholarship and we award it each year. So if you miss it this year, you can always apply the next time.

- We only accept essays in English.
- Please carefully proofread your essay before submission. Any serious grammatical errors will disqualify your submission.
