Tracy Morgan overcome with emotion as he visits rehab center where he recovered from horrific crash

Comedian Tracy Morgan has revisited the place that helped him recover after he was badly injured in a near-fatal crash.

A tractor-trailer hit Morgan’s minibus in June 2014 as the comic and his associates were heading back home on the New Jersey Turnpike after a gig in Delaware.

Jimmy Mack, a fellow comedian and longtime collaborator with Morgan, died.

After the incident, Morgan was left in a coma with head injuries and several broken bones. He made it out of that dark and terrifying place and went on to have an incredible career comeback.

Morgan recently returned to the Hackensack Meridian JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Center, where he recovered for a month, according to Page Six

At the visit, he was so overcome with emotion that he slumped in front of the bed he was recovering in and began crying.

“He was very thankful to all the nurses and doctors who helped him recover,” a representative for the rehabilitation center told the outlet, in part.

Morgan addressed patients at the rehab center about his injury and difficult rehabilitation to offer them hope for their own struggles.

And many of them believed it was “amazing” that Morgan returned “to the national stage as a comic and actor after his brain injury provided inspiration and hope during their own challenges.”

Tracy Morgan: Staying Alive, a stand-up special in which he jokes about the tragedy, was dropped by the comedian. The TBS sitcom he stars in, The Last O.G. is also going into the fourth season.
