FAMED Japanese actor Sonny Chiba was best known for starring in over 125 films.
The star tragically passed away on August 19, 2021, after a battle with pneumonia.
Sonny Chiba was a father to three children.
He had Juri Manase with his first wife, Yoko Nogiwa before their divorce.
He then married a woman named Tamami Chiba and had sons Mackenyu Arata and Gordon.
Both Juri and Mackenyu are actors, with Mackenyu earning the 40th Japan Academy Newcomers of the Year Award in 2017.
Chiba passed away in Chiba Prefecture Kimitsu hospital in Japan.
According to Japan’s Oricon News, the pneumonia was reportedly caused by coronavirus, and he had been in the hospital since August 8.
He was 82 years old at the time of his death.
He was reportedly not vaccinated against coronavirus.
Chiba was reportedly worth between $1-5million dollars at the time of his death.
The actor gained international attention by playing the sushi chef and retired samurai Hattori Hanzo in Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill: Volume 1 and Volume 2.
