Disney+ will launch the first three episodes of the highly anticipated series adaptation of “Y: The Last Man” on September 22nd in the U.K. via the Star section on the service.

New episodes will be made available each Wednesday thereafter. It’s likely a similar approach will be adopted for Disney+ in countries outside the United States but that’s not confirmed yet.

In the U.S., the series launches via FX on Hulu with the first two episodes on September 13th, and then weekly after with the third on September 20th.

The story unfolds in a post-apocalyptic world where all mammals with a Y chromosome die in a mysterious event, save one young man and his monkey.

Ben Schnetzer, Diane Lane, Ashley Romans, Olivia Thirlby, Amber Tamblyn, Marin Ireland, Diana Bang, Elliot Fletcher and Juliana Canfield star. Each episode is directed by a woman.
