Teyonah Parris kicked off her acting career in 2012, when she played the role of secretary Dawn Chambers in “Mad Men.” After this, she featured in other incredible films, but began to gain more prominence after her secondary role in the Academy nominated film “If Beale Street Could Talk,” alongside Regina King.
Seeing how incredible her acting talent was, it did not take long for the actress to catch the attention of Marvel Studios, where she was given her first superhero role in “WandaVision.”
There’s no question about the Julliard-trained actress’ acting talent, and from what everyone can see, 2021 seems to be the year that she comes out in her full form. According to reports, the 33-year-old is set to feature in the horror/thriller film titled “Candyman.” Watch the full trailer here.
Jessie Mei Li
If there is one thing that Netflix has taught users in 2021, it’s that they may be sleeping on Jessie Mei Li. The English-born actress first appeared in the 2019 production of a movie titled “All About Eve.” At just 25 years old, this actress is making waves in the movie industry, and she’s unstoppable.
However, she is now mainly known as the lead character, Alina Starkov, in Netflix’s “Shadow And Bone.” The premise of the fantasy series describes Alina as a special kind of Grisha, who can summon light, and is capable of ending the tyranny of the Shadow Fold.
Mei Li’s acting skills became quite glaring for the world to see, and for fans who love this fantasy series, it’s worthy of note that this is just the beginning for the rising star. For now, just enjoy the ride.
Anthony Ramos
It is not every day that upcoming stars get to feature alongside A-listers in their first set of projects, but Anthony Ramos earned that title.
His name first popped up as the original Philip Hamilton in the original Broadway film, “Hamilton.” Furthermore, he landed iconic roles in “She’s Gotta Have It,” and “A Star Is Born” alongside actors, Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga.
Now, in 2021, the upcoming superstar is about to turn heads and hearts with features in an adaptation movie titled “In The Heights.” Although Ramos has not gotten the opportunity to put his acting talent on full display for the world to see, it’s safe to say that fans have a place in their hearts for this iconic actor.
Thomas Doherty
Guess who’s capturing the ladies hearts in 2021? That’s right. Thomas Doherty. The Scottish actor and singer first aligned himself with Disney in a musical series titled “The Lodge,” then he played the character, Harry Hook in “Descendants.”
Now, the 26-ear-old is set to star as Max Wolfe in the reboot version of the iconic teen series “Gossip Girls.” If the ladies fell hard for Chuck Bass despite his demeanor, how do you think the will feel about this incredible actor? We’ll just have to wait and see about that.

The 43-year-old actress who was born deaf has started earning her place in Hollywood; first with her role as Connie in the series, “The Walking Dead” then a Broadway play titled “Children of a Lesser God.” The latter earned her several accolades including a Tony Award nomination for Best Actress in a Play.
Post-TWD, Ridloff is going to star in a Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero film titled “Eternals,” where she will play the role of a deaf superhero. This movie is not only her opening statement to the world, it also marks her as the first deaf Marvel superhero, which is a legend that is set in stone for ears to come.
